The naturopoathy resort inSaharanur an Oasis of Peace and tranquality.  I have been traveling down the road from Delhi about three hours on a narrow road through pictures que scenery in the early hours of the day.  In between the village we passing through fields and mango plantations.  When we finally turn off the road a big green gate opens in to gigantic garden field with hundred of trees and even more medicinal plants. 

Many friendly faces are smiling to welcome me.  Flower paddles are thrown over me and drums are playing to announce my arrival.  The whole staff of the resort are lined up to greet me.  I can't help it but to feel instantly like i have arrived at home.  For the next two week these people are my family.  

    I am invited for a walk around the grounds. All the facilities of the resort are explained to me.  There is so much to see and explore.  A whole new unknown world opens up for me. My home for two week is a comfortable cottage made from natural material like bamboo and palm leaves.  It is a tastefully decorated with beautiful hand carved wooden furniture.  The cottage is build in a form of a pyramid.  Reaching in to the blue sky under the foliage of the exotic tree.

 A little private garden is surrounding each cottage.  It creates a beautiful space for privacy and relaxation.  My welcome drink is served while we sit down together for a chat.  I am tasting my first delicious honey lemon cleansing juice.  To settle in comfortable into my new temporary home,  I get a long sousing massage.  Afterward I was escorted by the massage therapist to lunch.  It served in an open space under the trees. 

I experience my first ever alovera smooth an delicious soup.  It is followed several crunchy to me unknown grains cooked with a fresh salad.  All the ingredients are grown in the garden of the retreat.  Each of the following days, my diet will be adjusted to my personal health needs.  Included are several different herbal tea, which I get served through out the day.

My body start feeling light and some how very clean after some day.  A most uplifting feeling. 

The founder of the naturopathy resort Acharya Rajendra Atal ji has outlined my treatment to the staff for the next to week. 

But he interview me daily regarding my health and possible treatment adjustments if necessary. 

All the different treatments turn in to a full of timetable for every single day.   

There is so much to do from morning to evening.  It starts in the morning, when the sun is just worming up the grounds with gentle yoga. Followed by silent meditation if one desires. Afterward I am enjoying the warm mud packs for my shoulders and my tummy. Topping it up with a pampering warm aromatic herbal bath, which is just divine and so uplifting. Several more treatments I have to put into my day.

   There is the mud bath, enema, steam bath, reflexology, nose shower, hydro therapy, just to name only a few. And in between treatments there is always a nice aromatic herbal tea waiting for me and a relaxing stroll trough the lush gardens. And not to forget the delicious vegetarian meals three times a day, at least. They are a feast in them self, prepared with love and care they invite you to truly eat with awareness and joy.

The Resort staff is always nearby to care for your needs so much individual attention,I never experienced in a western spa or resort. Everybody here is so kind and has such a refreshing sense of humor. Laughter's are heard all around the retreat a lot. As Acharya ji explains to me, laughter’s are also an important medicine for a persons well being. And I can only agree.

The beautiful smiles of the people around me make my days sweet. I feel totally pampered and looked after all around. And in my spare time it is always so refreshing to go for a walk in the beautiful garden, filled with the smells of all the herbs growing here to be used in the resort.

The herbs are found everywhere, in the food, in the herbal bath water, in the mud packs, in the tea, in the massage oils and even in my tooth paste. And most important, no single plant on the entire property is treated with any pesticides or artificial fertilizer.

There are even some pet animals living here with us, so we can enjoy their company. Every moment of my stay at the resort was filled with the experience of total indulgence in care for my body and soul.

The combination of my health care program, yoga and meditation in the natural setting of beauty, filled me with deep relaxation and peace. An experience I would not wanted to have missed. And when I leave this resort I will always remember it as a place where my body, mind and soul could rejuvenate so completely and deeply.
